Aprilia released the Shiver 900 and Dorsoduro 900 in India. It was released internationally at the beginning of 2017 to replace the Shiver 750. The Shiver 900 was first shown at EICMA 2016, where the details of the naked street fighter were shown. Not only does it have a V-Twin engine with more power, but it also has a full set of electronics. It looks more sporty than the Shiver 750 because it has a new front mud guard, fuel tank cover, side panels, and tail fairing. Like the Dorsoduro, it has a steel-tube trellis frame that is bolted to aluminum side-plates and a rear sub-frame that is also bolted on.

Aprilia shiver 900 Features

Power and torque
You might think that the V-twin engine will be loud and rough, but that couldn't be further from the truth. The Shiver's engine is surprisingly smooth. It revs cleanly and has a lot of lovely mid-range drive. It feels a lot like an SV650 on steroids, which is not a bad thing. It's a very easy engine to use, and with 93bhp and 66. 4ft.lb of torque (it can be limited to A2-legal if needed), it's fast enough to thrill without being too aggressive. Still, its smoothness makes it a bit forgettable, and when you see the specs of its chassis and the Aprilia name on the tank, you kind of expect it to have a bit more fire in its belly. If you want to add a little spice, you should definitely change the gearing.
Engine, gearbox and exhaust
The Shiver 900's engine was given a longer stroke in the 90-degree V-barrels twin's to increase its capacity to 896cc, along with other internal modifications. Simple adjustments decreased clutch lever effort by 15%, improved fueling, and increased midrange and peak torque by 7ft.lb. Peak power stays the same to make it A2-legal through an ECU re-map, which can be reversed once you have a full A-licence. There have been some factory reliability changes, so look for one with an Aprilia dealer service history and listen for cam chain tensioner rattling. It's not a major problem and easy to remedy.
Handling, suspension, chassis and weight
The Shiver 900 sits flat and is too stable on its normal settings. Happily, this feeling simply needs the shock's preload to send weight forwards. The chassis and suspension are tight and athletic, but watch out for potholes! The Shiver gets away with its factory setting, but rough road riders may disagree. The 810mm seat height is comfortable for shorter people, although the clutch action is forceful in town.

Aprilia shiver 900 News

How does it ride?
The Shiver 900 starts up with a soft sound, and the usual clattery vibrations of a V-twin at idle are surprisingly absent. Even as it revs up and down, it is smooth. This is backed up by the smooth torque of the 896cc twin, and in the regular riding mode, the throttle response is set to be as docile as a sleepy Labrador retriever. But if you open it up in Sport mode, it becomes an attack dog that wants to lift the front wheel at any RPM except the lowest ones. This is when you realise that it has 92bhp and 90Nm. The Shiver
Anything else I should know?
It is a CBU, which means that the price is too high no matter how you look at it. You do get an Aprilia, which means a lot to a fan, but when you look at the prices of rivals like the Triumph Street Triple RS and the Ducati Monster 821. But a few nice design features, like the carbonfibre front fender and the baffles at the exhaust ends that make it look like the under-seat exhausts are closed, make up for some of that. On the tank is a stylish badge that says "54 world titles." These aren

The Shiver 900 idles quietly without the customary V-twin noise. The range revs smoothly. The 896cc twin's creamy torque and throttle response are like a sleepy Labrador dog in usual riding mode. In Sport mode, it becomes into an attack dog, eager to hoist the front wheel at any rev but the lowest, revealing its 92bhp, 90Nm power. The Shiver is narrow due to its engine and short handlebar reach. The Shiver inspires confidence with its nice throttle response and modest size. It's also quite manoeuvrable at city speeds. Its big-bike handling at speed makes it useful in most scenarios. The chassis has a trellis frame like the KTM Dukes, and the handlebar buttons regulate three-level traction control and ABS. The Shiver's brakes work well with the engine, stopping it smoothly. We wanted more features like a two-way quickshifter, but the price would have been too high.
